NSW: Girl critical after seizure in surf

SYDNEY, Dec 14 AAP - A 12-year-old girl from Victoria was in a critical condition after a
seizure in the surf at One Mile beach, Nelson Bay on the New South Wales mid north coast.

The girl, holidaying with her family, was swimming 70m from shore with a friend at about
12.30pm (AEDT) when she had the seizure, a police spokesman said.

The friend kept the girl afloat and alerted the 12-year-olds father, who brought her to
shore.

She was taken to John Hunter hospital in Newcastle where she was in a critical condition.
