Continuing The Fight.

M2 PRESSWIRE-9 December 2005-Emerging Stock Report: Continuing The Fight.(C)1994-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

RDATE:09122005

Approximately 12 million people are believed to suffer from Sickle Cell Disease worldwide. It is a genetic blood disorder caused by an abnormality in the hemoglobin molecule. People with this disease often produce stiff, abnormally shaped cells that do not flow freely through blood vessels, creating clogs in the vessels, which in turn cut off the flow of normal hemoglobin and oxygen to the body.

The Emerging Stock Report is continuing its coverage on Xechem International, Inc. (OTC BB: XKEM) up 27% today on news that it has acquired the exclusive, worldwide licensing rights to a new five-membered heterocyclic anti-sickling compound from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), Richmond, VA.

Early research has shown this anti-sickling agent to be a highly effective and relatively non-toxic treatment for Sickle Cell Disease. The new compound further expands Xechem's existing portfolio of products to be used in the fight against Sickle Cell Disease.

Xechem International, Inc. is a development stage biopharmaceutical company focusing on anticancer, antiviral (including AIDS), antifungal, Sickle Cell Disease (SCD), antimalarial and antibacterial products from natural sources, including microbial and marine organisms. Xechem's mission is to bring relief to the millions of people who suffer from these diseases. Its primary focus is on the development of phyto-pharmaceuticals and other proprietary technologies, including those used in the treatment of orphan diseases.

The Senate on October 27, 2005 approved an amendment offered by U.S. Senator Thad Cochran and co-sponsored by Senator Jim Talent (R-Mo.), to add $2 million to the Sickle Cell Disease Treatment grant program, created by Senators Talent and Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), which helps patients suffering from the blood disorder. The Cochran-Talent measure passed unanimously as part of the Labor-HHS Appropriations Act.

"This is a very important amendment which helps reduce health disparities throughout the United States. I can't emphasize enough how much this amendment means to the community of people affected by Sickle Cell Disease not just the 70,000 Americans that have it, not just the 2.5 million Americans who have the trait, but their families and friends who struggle every day with this disease." said Sen. Talent Ian Birrell The Emerging Stock Report profiles emerging growth companies and brings them to the attention of the investment community ahead of the market providing concise analysis and resources required in determining when a stock appears poised for growth.

Net closing on job adverts.(growth in online job advertisements)(Brief Article)

Mar 06, 2005 (Herald Sun - ABIX via COMTEX)

The latest Olivier Internet Job Index shows that there was 30 per cent growth in online job advertisements in the year to February 2005. However, growth slowed to 12.19 per cent in the second half, while there was only 2.16 per cent growth in the three months to February. About 149,000 job vacancies were advertised online in February 2005. This was the highest level recorded since the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. Recent history shows that an increase in interest rates prompts a downturn in internet job advertising.

Investment in tourism rises 12.2%.

MEXICO CITY, Feb 11, 2004 (El Economista/Corporate Mexico by Internet Securities, Inc. via COMTEX) -- Private investment in the domestic tourism sector reached US$1.66 billion last year, which was 12.2% more than in 2002.

The total of foreign private investment in the Mexican tourism sector rose to US$1.31 billion, with national investments climbing to US$349.1 million. Rodolfo Elizondo, head of the Tourism Secretariat (Sectur) said that this year a total of 11,500 hotel rooms were expected to be finished. This shows that Mexico is highly competitive in the industry and needs to keep working to attract even more tourists and foreign currency.

By the end of 2003, the country broke its record for foreign currency earnings from tourism, with a total of US$9.46 billion, which was 6.8% more than the US$8.86 billion seen in 2002.

Chinese Web sites cut out parts of Obama speech

Chinese translations of President Barack Obama's inauguration speech posted Wednesday on popular online portals were missing his references to communism and dissent.

The comments by the newly installed U.S. president veered into potentially sensitive territory for China's ruling Communist Party, which maintains a tight grip over the Internet and the entirely state-run media.

At one point, Obama said earlier generations "faced down communism and fascism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions." He later addressed "those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent _ know that you are on the wrong side of history."

Translations of the speech on China's most popular online portals, Sina and Sohu, were missing the word "communism" in the first sentence. The paragraph with the sentence on dissent had been removed.

Another portal, Netease, carried a version without the paragraph mentioning communism, but retaining the part about dissent.

The full translation of Obama's speech could be viewed on the Web site of Hong Kong-based broadcaster Phoenix TV.

There was no immediate comment from the Web portals. Sina asked for an e-mailed request for comment and phones rang unanswered at Sohu. A woman in the Netease public relations department said the portal may have run a version taken from another site, and could not be reached again for further comment.
